Raising thousands for charities
Bren Morris, Material Co-ordinator at Morgan Advanced Ceramics in Rugby (UK), has raised thousands of pounds for charity over the last 30 years.
In 1978 he organised his first event to raise money for an electric scooter for his son Stewart who has a condition called spina bifida. Bren raised the £6,500 he needed and a further £18,000. He used the extra to buy wheelchairs for others with disabilities, started a local spina bifida charity and continued fund raising. He recently organised a dance in memory of his wife Christian, who died of cancer in October. The event raised £2,500 for Macmillan Nurses, who cared for Christian during her illness.
His main causes are spina bifida and cancer but he also supports other charities and helps others organise charity events.
