Going the extra mile

Two Morgan Crucible employees ran in the 2007 London Marathon which took place in April. Mark Moore, General Manager at Morgan Advanced Ceramics in Stourport-on-Severn (UK) finished in just 3 hours 53 minutes despite a knee injury. Adele Thompson, Customer Services Representative at Morganite Electrical Carbon in Swansea (UK) also put in a respectable time of 4 hours and 58 minutes.

She said. “It has always been an ambition of mine to run the London Marathon and I kept pinching myself to make me believe that I was actually taking part.”

Adele raised £2,400 for the Cancer Research UK charity. She ran in memory of her mother-in-law who recently died as a result of contracting lung cancer. Mark Moore competed in support of the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Resource Centre. He said, “I have known a number of people who have MS and wanted to help. Several of my Morgan Crucible colleagues sponsored me.”
