Ethics Policy
The Group’s Ethics Policy formalises the ethical principles in our Core Values Statement and ensures that our business around the globe is carried out within an honest and ethical framework.
The Policy sets out the Group's requirements relating to:
- Compliance with laws & regulations, including the UK Bribery Act;
- Integrity in business;
- Conflicts of interest;
- Integrity in financial reporting; &
- Integrity in public reporting & disclosure
Ethics Policy Training
The Policy is implemented at site level through local General Managers and Compliance Officers, who have all attended face to face ‘train the trainer’ sessions through the Responsible Business Programme. They are then responsible for delivering training on a site by site basis to over 1,900 relevant employees. The site level face-to-face training includes dilemma and scenario based discussions complemented by an e-learning module hosted on the Group’s Intranet. The training materials and eLearning modules are available in 13 languages. The eLearning module concludes with a test where participants are required to achieve a 100% score in order to pass.
Ethics Policy Compliance
Implementation of the site level training and compliance with the Policy is monitored by the General Counsel and Company Secretary and his team, with a direct reporting line to the Board and Executive Committee. Compliance with the Policy also forms part of the remit of Group Internal Audit.
The Morgan Crucible Ethics Hotline also enables employees who are aware of or suspect issues under our Ethics Policy to report these confidentially.
