Carbon’s products have been serving a variety of global industrial markets, since we began producing carbon brushes for the transport industry at the beginning of the 20th century.

Aerospace: we produce market-leading turbine engine seal and bearing components, as well as a wide range of other bespoke composite components and assemblies.

Automotive: we concentrate on providing lightweight, strong, stiff 3D-shaped parts, made from some of the most advanced composite materials available today. 

Defence: we provide critical protective components for the world's marine, surface and air defences. Examples include nuclear submarines, aircraft carriers, tactical and strategic ground vehicles, personnel protection and weapon systems, and fixed and rotor winged aircraft. Additionally, we lend our expertise to a wide range of other specialist parts, specifically in the advanced composites sector. We also supply a variety of composite helmets with many unique features and a proven safety record.

Diamond synthesis: we are a leading supplier of highly-engineered graphite powder, which is used in the manufacture of synthetic diamonds. There is growing demand, particularly from the construction and oil-drilling industries, following an increase in the use of these products as abrasives.

Electrical, industrial and traction: these industries use our carbon brushes, holders, commutators and collectors.

Fluid handling: our carbon and silicon carbide components are used in the seals and bearings that are critical to the pumps and compressors used in many industrial sectors, such as oil and gas, chemical, and food processing.

High temperature insulation: we are a world leader in the manufacture and application of thermal management products, spanning carbon and graphic felt and cloth, and machined graphite components. These are used in a range of complex applications, such as solar, semiconductor, vacuum, furnace, high purity fused silica glass, and automotive and aerospace component manufacturing. 

Medical: our advanced composites sector provides a variety of specialist parts for use across the medical industry.
